Week of Feb. 24, 2014...Chuck Close Portraits and Acrylic Paintings...

This week in art students will:


ART ONE:

• Apply their color theory knowledge by completing an acrylic/ tempera painting
• Review and apply grid drawing to a choice reference picture
• learn about Michelangelo & the Italian High Renaissance

ADVANCED ART:

• Apply their knowledge of Chuck Close by creating Chuck Close portraits imitating his style in a chosen portrait
• Continue to learn how to apply advanced color theory in their work, such as split complementary
• learn about Rembrandt and the Italian High Renaissance

Studio Art:

• continue working on their independent art projects
• Be introduced to the "ART TEACHER FOR A DAY" group assignment
