This week in art...Feb. 13

Happy Valentine's Day Week!
This week in art, students will

  • Learn about the American Pop Artist, Modern hard-edge painter and sculptor Robert Indiana
  • Learn about color theory through completing a painting, color wheel, and a variety of value scales
    • Advanced Art: Kandinsky VALUE color study painting
  • CREATE! a hard-edge LOVE painting in complementary colors using the relief process
  • Understand how to create FORM in painting through shading with complementary colors, tints and shades
  • Celebrate Black History Month by learning about the African-American artist 
  • Jean-Michel Basquiat
MI benchmarks and standards:
