Holiday Acrylic Painting on Canvas

Students will...

• Create a step by step holiday painting with the art teacher on canvas using the grid drawing technique and acrylic paint.
• Understand the role of hard-edge painting in art.

• Learn painting techniques to improve their neatness when painting on canvas, such as to hold their paintbrush like a pencil, glide rather than 'sketch' when outlining, allow for drying time between coats & wet areas, and the like.
• Understand the importance of material selection in the visual arts in regards to quality.

• Create a Monochromatic Celebrity Painting in the style of Pop Art.
• Use technology to manipulate photographs and to enhance understanding.
